10) Sejahtera in Islamic View
For today’s class, we delved deeper into using Sejahtera as a concept for SDG. Learning about Sejahtera and how it connects to Islamic values has really opened my eyes. Sejahtera, which means well-being or peace, is much more than just feeling comfortable or relaxed. It has deep roots in spiritual, emotional, and social aspects, especially when we look at it through Islamic teachings. As Sir Ali taught us more about it, I found that it aligns closely with important Islamic ideas like Tawheed (the oneness of God), Akhlak (good character), and Ihsan (doing good). The well-being that Sejahtera encourages is linked to the condition of our hearts, the purity of our actions, and how strong our relationship with God is. It shows that true well-being isn't just about having material things; it's about balancing faith, good deeds, and moral values. Sejahtera is not only about personal peace but also about creating social harmony, justice, and compassion for others.

What really stood out to me was how Sejahtera connects with the Islamic idea of success, or Al-Falah, which is about more than just achieving things in this world; it also includes our well-being in the afterlife. This view changes how we think about sustainability, making it not just about the environment or economy, but also about nurturing spiritual and community well-being. By combining Islamic values with Sejahtera, we see the importance of taking care of our environment, society, and ourselves, all while being responsible to God. Even in the Al-Quran, there were many mentions of finding a balance in our life. As stated in Surah Al-Qasas ayah 77; "And seek by means of what Allah has given you the Future abode, and do not neglect your portion of this world."
Through this journey, I've learned that Sejahtera encourages us to live thoughtfully and ethically, showing our faith, worship, and good actions in everything we do. It reminds us that sustainable development is not just about saving resources but also about building a fair, peaceful, and spiritually rich life for everyone.
